Birthday Deals in Edmonton
When a birthday falls on a weekday, or to those who don’t like big parties, it’s sometimes difficult to find a way to celebrate that special day. Luckily, there are places that are willing to make sure you still have a chance to make it a good one.
Here are some birthday deals in Edmonton. We recommend you register onto their loyalty program a month prior to your birthday so that the automated systems are able to send your birthday offer.

Drink Deals
Tim Horton’s offers a free drink or breakfast sandwich through their app if you add your birthday to your profile. I was able to get a regular chicken club sandwich outside of breakfast hours. You will need to register at least 7 days prior.
Register to Square One coffee’s loyalty program and you will get a text for any drink of your choice. You have one week to redeem.
DavidsTea now offers 5 free points on your birthday as part of the Frequent Steepers program (100 points required to redeem 50g of tea). I did not get the email this year.
Starbucks offers a free drink or food item of your choice on your birthday date only, as part of their rewards program. It’s redeemable through their mobile app and you must join 7 days prior.
Food Deals
Basha Donair, a chain founded in Edmonton, has the best birthday food deal. You can get an entire donair combo. Be sure to register on their program using the Five Star app and purchase in store prior to your birthday.
Boston Pizza‘s loyalty program birthday dessert doesn’t work for me, so I set up an ‘anniversary’ instead which gives you a free 2-topping personal pizza.
Denny’s Canada will treat you to a free custom Grand Slam (or equivalent price discount) on your birthday. Just show your ID.
*Harvey’s® has a “special gift” on your birthday, however there are no details of the gift. You will need to sign up for the Harvey’s® Burger Club. I did not receive an email in 2022.
IHOP will serve up a dish of free pancakes for your birthday (and anniversary) by signing up to the MYHOP program.
*Joey’s Mariner’s Club will send you “birthday offers” 7 days prior to the day. There’s no details of what the offers are.
Red Lobster has a free dessert with the purchase of two adult entrees when you sign up to Fresh Catch News 10 days prior to the day.
Melting Pot has box of 6 signature dipped strawberries with any menu purchase as a Club Fondue member. Reserve 24hr in advance.
New York Fries has a free regular fries if you register to their Fry Society (it’s online and not an app). You will need to refill a balance at least a day prior to your birthday, although I did not do that this year and still got this.
South St. Burger has a buy one get one burger (of equal or lesser value) on your birthday if you sign up to their email list. ID required.

Swiss Chalet offers a free kids meal up to age 10. This offer is not confirmed and there is no loyalty program to sign up for.

Kinjo Sushi (in Calgary) offers a free sushi roll redeemable during your birthday week if you’re registered on their Stamp Me app.
Red Robin offers a free burger during your birthday month if registered to their Red Robin Royalty program. If you’re travelling to BC where they have locations, keep this in mind.
Sawmill offers $25 off dinner, or $15 off lunch when you make a reservation for a table of 4+ up to a week before or after your birthday. Discount is applied through your registered Sawmill Loyalty Card. This promo seems to be discontinued as the staff didn’t know about it when I called.
Tony Roma’s (there’s still 2 locations in Edmonton) offers $10 off a $25 purchase during your birthday week as part of Tony Roma’s Email Club. I did not receive an email in 2022, so it’s assumed this is discontinued.
Dessert Deals
Boston Pizza offers a free dessert on your birthday for those who are part of the MyBP program.
Dairy Queen has a buy one get one Blizzard® voucher for any size, or $5 off a cake when you sign up to the Blizzard® Fan Club or app.
Marble Slab has $10 off an ice cream cake for you by signing up to Marble Mail 48 hours prior to your birthday.
Sign up for Cob’s Bread Cob’s Club loyalty program for a free cinnamon bun on your birthday. Fine print says you need to register 7 days prior, but I registered 10 minutes before midnight before my birthday and received the email.
*Menchies gives you a $5 credit you may use up to 15 days before or after your birthday for those registered to their mySmileage program. The app doesn’t work for Android phones, so you will have to provide your phone number to your account at purchase. Use the small yogurt container as it was $16 (minus $5 of course) with the big one I filled up.
*Montana’s Grill Lovers Club gives you 10% off and a free dessert on your birthday.
*Olive Garden will treat you to a free dessert up to $8.50 in value on your birthday when you sign up to their birthday club.
*Swiss Chalet offers a free dessert for adults. There is no loyalty program to sign up for.
Girly Stuff
*Addition Elle has a “birthday surprise” with their VIP program.
*ANTHROPOLOGIE will give you 15% off a regular priced item during your birthday month when you sign up for AnthroPerks.
*The Body Shop® will send you a $10 reward to spend on your birthday when you join the Love Your Body™ Club.
*Dynamite and Garage have birthday discounts when you join Studio.
*Reitmans offers a “birthday reward” when you sign up to their program.
Sephora gives you a choice of a free gift which you may redeem during your birthday month by registering to Beauty Insider. Just head up to the cash register. The offer for the birthday month works even if you register after your birthday.
Other Offers
*ALDO has a 20% birthday discount when you sign up for the ALDO Crew.
Chapters, !ndigo, and Coles will give you 20% off an entire purchase.
*EXIT Edmonton has a free birthday player for an escape room with ID. If not on the exact day, the player may receive 50% off plus or minus two days of the birthdate. Note that escape rooms require a minimum of 2 players to max of 10 depending on the theme. Location has been closed since March 2020.
Francis Winspear Centre for Music has a pair of tickets for 50% off for any Edmonton Symphony Orchestra concert of the season purchased during your birthday month. You must sign up to the Winspear Birthday Club. A new program is in the works.
London Drugs sends you a $5 gift voucher which is added to your LDExtras account a week prior to your birthday.
*Old Navy will send you a free gift during your birthday month when registered to their mailing list. You may also register for Gap and Banana Republic. I have never received an email for this.
H&M gives you a 25% off your purchase for your birthday if you register for their program.
Simons Canada will give you 2X the points on your largest purchase made during your birthday month.
UNIQLO app registration (not email newsletter) will email you a $5-off voucher with a $6 minimum purchase before taxes. I got a pair of socks for $4.90, plus a $2.90 item to make the minimum $6 threshold.
*Value Village has a 20% birthday discount with their Super Savings Club®.
Sports Clips offers a $15 MVP haircut (half price) on your birthday. An MVP cut includes a haircut, steamed towel, massaging shampoo, neck & shoulder massage. For me, it was valid until the end of the month, so I will have to try this out later in a few weeks.
Big Brand Online Offers
CheapoAir email registration gives you $15 off their fees valid your birthday month.
KLM email updates will give you $46-off your next flight. Use code within 3 months for booking within 1 year.
